Digadang menjadi salah satu pebulu tangkis berparas cantik, siapa sangka Woon Khe Wei memilih membuat keputusan mengejutkan di tahun 2018.
Woon yang merupakan spesialis ganda putri andalan Malaysia mulai terlihat jarang mengikuti kompetisi.
Rekan Vivian Hoo itu terakhir tercatat mengikuti Kejuaran Dunia 2018 pada 30 Juli- 5 Agustus 2018.

Kala itu, Woon/Hoo kalah dari ganda putri Jepang, Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi di babak 32 besar.
Woon/Hoo kalah dengan skor 12-21, 21-19, 12-21.
Selang beberapa bulan dari pertandingan terakhirnya, Woon mengungkapkan keputusan mengejutkan.
Pemegang medali emas SEA Games 2013 itu memutuskan pensiun dari bulu tangkis.
